About us.

Our mission.

Canine Improvement seeks to cultivate and improve the canine and human relationship. We strive to grow our business with the same love and passion we use to craft our specialized training plans .

Respect.

The foundation of any relationship is mutual respect. This starts by recognizing the value of who your dog is, personality-wise and as an individual.

Trust.

With respect follows trust, forming and maintaining a healthy bond relied upon comfort and care. Trust provides dogs with certainty & helps build confidence.

Healthy communication.

Dogs just like humans use communication to express needs and emotions. We will teach you  how to effectively spot & interpret dogs body language in order to build a better bond & begin a journey of effective communication.

How our values are reflected in our work:

Our training programs are tailor-made to your dogs', drive, temperament, personality and your needs. Working towards your goals, always moving at a dog's pace, respecting their limits and never pushing past them. Understanding how your companion thinks and communicates takes patience and consistency but will strengthen the bond between you, creating a safe environment to grow, learn and thrive.

Why we started:

At Canine Improvement we believe there are no bad dogs, simply a mix of bad habits, poor communication and lack of understanding. In the U.S. alone, approximately 3.9 million dogs enter animal shelters every year, by educating people on dogs before making a decision, helping dogs work through triggers and teaching pet parents how to speak 'dog'. we can lower those numbers tremendously. Our mission is to stop  animal euthanasia, pet surrender and dog abandonment nationwide. Starting by training one dog at a time.

My Story

Growing up I very much enjoyed a dog's company over some people's; this was reflected through the amount of time I spent with my childhood dogs. Without a single ounce of knowledge on how dogs learn, communicate or function; I trained my childhood dogs to do all sorts of cues and behaviors, from basic obedience to tricks. This planted a seed that would bloom when I attended Animal Behavior College where I gained knowledge on how to effectively create individualize training plans with the understanding of how dogs learn and thrive. I became an Animal Behavior College certified dog trainer with other certifications that widened my educational range and left me wanting to learn more. The dog world is forever changing; not only is dog training my element but constantly learning more about it, is the cherry on top!
