About us.

Our mission.

Our mission is to reduce dog, euthanasia, surrender and abandonment by empowering dog owners with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively train and understand their dogs. We strive to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners ensuring dogs remain loving, well behaved members of their families for life. Together we can create a world where fewer dogs are surrendered and more dogs, thrive in happy, permanent homes.

Respect.

The foundation of any relationship is mutual respect. This starts by recognizing the value of who your dog is, personality-wise and as an individual.

Trust.

With respect follows trust, forming and maintaining a healthy bond relied upon comfort and care. Trust provides dogs with certainty & helps build confidence.

Healthy communication.

Dogs just like humans use communication to express needs and emotions. We will teach you  how to effectively spot & interpret dogs body language in order to build a better bond & begin a journey of effective communication.

How our values are reflected in our work:

Our training programs are tailor-made to your dogs', drive, temperament, personality and your needs. Working towards your goals, always moving at a dog's pace, respecting their limits and never pushing past them. Understanding how your companion thinks and communicates takes patience and consistency but will strengthen the bond between you, creating a safe environment to grow, learn and thrive.

Why we started:

At Canine Improvement we believe there are no bad dogs, simply a mix of bad habits, poor communication and lack of understanding. In the U.S. alone, approximately 3.9 million dogs enter animal shelters every year. By educating people on dogs before making a decision, helping dogs work through triggers and teaching pet parents how to speak 'dog'. we can lower those numbers tremendously. Our mission is to stop  animal euthanasia, pet surrender and dog abandonment nationwide. Starting by training one dog at a time.

My Story

From a young age, I’ve always cherish the company of dogs, often preferring their company over that of people. I spent countless hours with my childhood dogs, teaching them everything from basic obedience to fun tricks- without any formal knowledge of how dogs learn or communicate.

This passion planted a seed that grew when I attended the Animal Behavior College, where I gained a deep understanding of canine behavior and the skills needed to create effective, individualized training plans. After earning my certification as dog trainer, I pursued additional certifications to expand my expertise and continue learning in this ever-evolving field.

Dog training is not my profession; it’s my passion. The opportunity to keep learning and growing within this field is truly the cherry on top!
